DAYLIGHT SAVINGS TIME UPDATE - MARCH 11TH, 2007
This year Daylight Saving Time (DST) extends by approximately four weeks. In compliance with this provision in the Energy Policy Act of 2005, DST dates in the United States and Canada will start three weeks earlier (2:00 A.M. on the second Sunday in March) and will end one week later (2:00 A.M. on the first Sunday in November).
In some instances, effort will be required to accommodate the new DST legislation. For example, systems and applications may need to be updated directly, while in other circumstances the application may inherit the date and time information from the underlying system.
Webtek is providing support to companies that are in need of patching this issue. This issue is a smaller version of the Y2K bug back in 1999 but can still affect systems and applications. We will provide some examples as you might not be aware of what it is capable of affecting:

Now you know what is affected, so the question still remains - how does this affect me? It completely depends upon your business and what you are using. You might also be using special software that was created for you. This could become a large problem if the software relies on time as well as trying to find the original company that made it for you if they still exist. If any of these applications above sound familiar, then please do not hesitate to call us. The sooner you take care of this problem the more relaxed you can be. If you also would like to just inquire about if something you have may be affected by the change, simply contact us either via phone, email or the website and we will respond to you promptly.
